Labor Day Getaway!

The Barnsons invited us to spend Labor Day weekend at their ranch in Circleville, Utah. (Dad hadn't quite arrived with the moving truck yet).  Cole's family owns the ranch and a lot of land out there and it's an amazing place. The house itself is the ideal place for cowboy fun, not to mention the horses, firepit, and 4 wheelers. Add all that to cousins and its an unforgettable memory making spot!

Utah here we come - for good this time!

On our way to Utah, and this time for longer than a few weeks! We left dad behind to finish getting the house packed and we got to take a flight via Las Vegas. We had a pretty long layover so Bekah and Jude, Otto and Noel came to get us and we hung out at a fun park for a little while before our last stretch of travel.

Good thing cousins and then more cousins awaited us when we arrived too!  Station Park with Elise...

We stayed with Grandma Jeanne and Papa Rick and every night was a fun sleepover! Mom was busy trying to find a place to rent before the start of school, but there was no shortage of fun at the same time.  The annual balloon festival right up the street happened...

We went to see a cute red house with a great porch in Bountiful and felt it was the place to be.  And all the while we were waiting for dad to hopefully sell our house in Cary and be on his way with all our things.

In the meantime...walks with Papa Rick to the duck pond...

The Davis County fair and princess performers...

and participating in a pie eating contest - WHAT?

This is Caleb's version of what happened in his own words in a letter to Will...(check out Avery's jealous face when she found out he got a pie at the end!)

We had a fun cousin day at Cowabunga Bay water park,

spent time with the Barnsons when they came for a visit,

checked out the park scene,

and had a Matsen/Johnson get together at Sugar House Park and witnessed a scary Max moment...he fell from a very tall tree as we were all watching him climb!  It didn't end badly though, and we were so relieved he was okay! Very scary!

And finally, The kids started school at Tolman Elementary in Bountiful- 4th grade for Caleb and 1st for the girls!

Introducing Friday half days! This is what we did on our first one - the Bountiful Rec Center Indoor Pool.  Fun!
