Happy Holidays 2014

We got into the Christmas spirit early on at art class - my mom had a friend and guest artist come and talk about her work and show the kids how to do their very own stain glass watercolor!  We had such a great time!

I love this picture - cousins, sisters and brothers all scrunched so tightly together on two side benches in the chapel.  We went to listen to mom perform in their Stake Christmas Choir Concert.  Another activity to get us into the holiday spirit!

Here's a look at our house this time of year - we drove up north into Ogden to find our Christmas tree.  It was a bit pricey and not like the NC experience of picking out a tree, but we tried to make the best of it.  The kids had a great time using a little of ALL our Christmas tree ornaments to decorate it.

We saw Annalyn in Oliver at the Dicken's Festival - she did an amazing job and was so animated on stage.  She definitely has a knack for this - so talented!

We ventured out to see the lights at Temple Square one night with the Peay's.  Thanks to Rachel, we got a picture that can pass for this year's family picture!  And as you can see, we lucked out with the weather.  Pretty warm for downtown in December!

Our annual ginger bread house decorating night at Grandma T's - so fun!

And these pictures were taken at our December FHE at Bri's house.  Alisha had some colored bells and the color coded music to some Christmas songs.  The kids did such a good job taking turns ringing their bell when it came to their color.

Right before school got out for the year, Avery's class did a fun Dr. Seuss reading and acting out of The Grinch.  They sang the songs and took turns reading their parts.  Avery was one of the kids who had the most parts and she was fantastic.  What an entertaining group of first graders!

And here's the program to the very own Syrett kids Christmas Caroling Concert.  Dad and I were the audience and we listened to quite a few songs one night! Phew!

An excellent drawing Presley made for Santa Claus...

Happy 10th birthday to Caleb!  We met Grandpa Mike and Grandma T for lunch at Smashburger.

Holiday break hot chocolate in new Star Wars mugs with a new puzzle to put together...perfect winter activity!

Cute, frozen faces after a fun time tubing - there was a big hill just up the street from us!

And more tubing!  This time we went up to Springville and met the Peay's at a little sledding place that didn't look like much, but boy, did it turn out to be a blast!  The best was when we tried to hook up a long chain of tubes and go down the hill all at the same time.  Awesome!
