Thank you's
This is a posting I published originally back in December on my family's blogspot. I want to add it here too, now that I have my own blog so that other people can see...
Hello everyone,
To you who made our lives a little less chaotic during these first few months with the twins - we love you and appreciate the sacrafice you made to be here with us!
Hello everyone,
First of all I want to let all the Johnson/Black blog authors know how much I have enjoyed getting caught up with all that is going on. Your "blogging" has definitely convinced me to start contributing...mostly because although my life right now is completely full, how could I pass up the opportunity to record some of my thoughts as my days and nights pass by so quickly? Time seems to speed up when you are encompassed with many responsibilites, and I need to pause and cherish moments that only happen once.
The past two months have been packed with special moments, and tonight I'm thinking specifically about how grateful I am for the moments my family and I have enjoyed with the people who have been here to lend a helping hand. Thank you, thank you, thank you - for spending quality time with Caleb, forever comforting Presley, changing soooo many bums, getting up at all hours of the night with me, fixing yummy dinners, vacuuming, and the list goes on...To you who made our lives a little less chaotic during these first few months with the twins - we love you and appreciate the sacrafice you made to be here with us!

4 months old!
Here they are, waiting for the doctor to come in and check them out. Avery weighed in at 12 lbs 1 oz and Presley is 11 lbs 10 oz. Doubly stressful, sad twin moment: watching and hearing them both get two shots in each leg and then having to choose one to comfort first (can't nurse them anymore at the same time!). Good thing Caleb was spending the morning at a friends house and especially a good thing that dad was there to comfort the one that had to wait!
Jack wouldn't really let me get a good picture of him, but can you tell he has silly putty stuck in his fur and paws everywhere?? Yes, the fun Valentine's Day present that dad brought home for Caleb got left on the floor and Jack decided to be curious. We took him in this morning to get it all shaved out...he has a very short haircut this time!

and the blogging begins...
Winter in Cary, North Carolina is well, not really winter. (I think it was 73 degrees the day this picture was taken!). A daily afternoon ritual for mom and kids in February: getting out of the house. Which most of the time means sitting on the porch or kicking the ball in the cul-de-sac with baby monitor in hand. The other day I had one girl in the baby bjorn and one in the jogger stroller and was watching Caleb run around. He took off after the ball at one point and tripped and landed on his face. The result was a hysterical three year old with a bloody lip and knee. Good thing a kind neighbor came to the rescue and helped us all get inside the house!
