Winter continued...

Baby Henry Nils Johanson came the first week of January!  I went to see Erin in the hospital - so glad we can jump in the car and go see him!

So sweet - newborn faces are the best!  I went down to see him and help do something for Erin a few times those first weeks...took Kayla to the library, folded laundry, dishes, baby things of course and my favorite - hung out and talked to Erin.  One day we even made some yummy chocolate chip banana bread...

Kayla and her new little brother!

Crazy girls - they came home looking like this after a play date at their favorite friend, Ashley's house!

We did a winter birch tree project in art class - a definite favorite!  So many steps in the process and pretty challenging too.  Each one unique and different...

Here's grandma again modeling how to sketch a frog on another day...

At the beginning of the school year I volunteered to be the art mom in Avery's class and Presley's too.  Presley's teacher didn't have me do things that often, but here's something we did that was a hit - the birch tree idea again, with a cardinal.  This is mine that I had for an example...

Loved how they turned out - it was so entertaining to see the different kids do such different things!  Some of them were a little interesting -

We did these winter penguins in Avery's class and she put them up outside the classroom.  What a group!

Another piano concert for Caleb and this time he played two pieces - so well!!
